However, my problem is that whenever the toy attempts to speak her name, it's replaced with a short burst of static, as in "Hi, let's play together!" Repeated attempts to synchronize using the Leapfrog Connect software have not succeeded in fixing it. Using an older version of their Leapfrog Connect as described in this post, I was able to get most of the way there, and the toy now displays her name on the screen and shows the custom e-mails I set up. My son has outgrown it and I wanted to change the personalization to my daughter's name, so I went to use the Leaptop Connect, but it turns out Leapfrog has discontinued support for this model. My kids have one of the old My Own Leaptop toys from 2010 that connect to the computer via USB, and they absolutely love how it says and spells their name.
